Mürren (1650 m) - a marvellous mountain village, car-free, rich in tradition and originally the home of settlers from the Lötschen Valley in the Valais. Perched on a high, sunny terrace facing the famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, the village is the highest altitude ski resort in the Bernese Oberland. It nestles at the foot of the Schilthorn with its revolving Piz Gloria Restaurant, made world-famous by a James Bond film. In summer, Mürren is the perfect place from which to start a host of hikes, from simple to strenuous. You can reach Mürren from Lauterbrunnen by mountain railway (BLM) or from Stechelberg by aerial cableway (LSMS). Mürren has 350 inhabitants and a total of 2000 beds in 14 hotels and 250 holiday apartments.
Mürren "owns" eleven Hotels (two 4* Hotels), two guesthouses and the Sportchalet. These 14 accommodations offer to 800 guests a place to sleep and 1200 beds in 100 apartments.

Mürren isn't only a secret tip for families, individuals and those who are looking for relaxation; sportsmen will find in and around Mürren their own Eldorado. The Alpine Sportzentrum is a spectactor magnet.
If you stay in the car-free resort Mürren, you won't see the Schilthorn with its world famous revolving restaurant "Piz Gloria". The Piz-Gloria-Restaurant on 3000m turns itself 360° in one hour, so that visitors have a great view of a terrific panorama. On a clear day, 200 mountain peaks and 40 glaciers can be seen. Also the Black Forest, Jura and the Mont Blanc.
